our beliefs

While beliefs matter, living them out matters more. Church isn't merely a building topped with a cross—it's people in authentic relationship with God and each other. Here are the convictions we stand on firmly.

We exist to make disciples by helping people encounter Jesus, experience transformation, and discover how their story fits into God’s greater story, so they can share it with the world.

  • The Apostles Creed

    I believe in God,

    the Father almighty,

    Creator of heaven and earth,

    and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,

    who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

    born of the Virgin Mary,

    suffered under Pontius Pilate,

    was crucified, died and was buried;

    he descended into hell;

    on the third day he rose again from the dead;

    he ascended into heaven,

    and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;

    from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

    I believe in the Holy Spirit,

    the holy catholic Church,

    the communion of saints,

    the forgiveness of sins,

    the resurrection of the body,

    and life everlasting.

    Amen.

  • The Nicene Creed

    We believe in one God, the Father Almighty,

          Maker of heaven and earth,

          and of all things visible and invisible.

    We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,

          the only-begotten Son of God,

          begotten of the Father before all worlds,

          God from God, Light from Light,

          true God from true God,

          begotten, not made,

          of the same essence as the Father.

          Through him all things were made.

          Who for us, and for our salvation,

          he came down from heaven:

          he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary,

          and was made man;

          He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate,

          and suffered, and was buried,

          and the third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures;

          and ascended into heaven,

          and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

          He will come again in glory,

          to judge the living and the dead;

          His kingdom will have no end.

    We believe in the Holy Spirit,

          the Lord, the giver of life,

          who proceeds from the Father [and the Son]*2,

          who with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified,

          who spoke through the prophets.

          We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.

          We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

          We look for the resurrection of the dead,

          and the life of the world to come.

        Amen.

  • About God

    We believe that God is Triune: Father, Son and Holy Spirit

    (2 Cor. 13:14).

  • About The Bible

    We believe that the Bible is God-inspired (2 Tim. 3:16, 17)

  • About The Fall of Man

    We believe people were created in God’s image, but by choosing to disobey Him, humanity fell from perfection and became sinful (Rom. 5:12)

  • About the Plan of Redemption

    We believe that, while we were sinners, Christ died for us—pardoning all who believe in Him (John 3:16; Rom. 5:8).

  • About Salvation

    We believe that we receive salvation when we

    come to God through faith in the atoning work of Jesus on the cross. Salvation is God’s gift to us (Eph. 2:8).

  • About The New Birth

    We believe that a genuine change takes place in people who accept Christ as Savior; believers allow Christ’s life to be lived through them (2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 2:20).

  • About The Second Coming of Christ

    We believe that the second coming of Christ is personal and imminent (1 Thess. 4:16, 17; Titus 2:11-13).

  • About Baptism of The Holy Spirit

    We believe that baptism with the Holy Spirit

    empowers believers, and that the Holy Spirit’s incoming follows the same pattern that is described in the New Testament (Acts 2:4).

  • About The Spirit Filled Life

    We believe that it is the will of God that we daily walk in the power of the Holy Spirit

    (Eph. 4:30-32).

  • Tithes & Offerings

    We believe God’s plan to support and advance His work is through tithes and offerings, and we encourage everyone to give cheerfully as Scripture teaches (Mal. 3:10; 2 Cor. 9:7)

  • Women in Ministry

    The Great Commission, along with the need of the dying world in which we live, calls for

    all the people of God, His sons and daughters, to engage the harvest using whatever gifts He has entrusted to them.

    Since women are redeemed, anointed, gifted, called, and loved by God in exactly the same way as men, we categorically affirm that they should be fully

    released to exercise their gifts for every facet of ministry in His church.

    Since its founding, the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel has affirmed the

    place of women in ordained ministry and leadership. The position of the Foursquare

    movement regarding ministry leadership has always been the following:

    Anyone called by God and verified through character, spiritual experience and

    preparation for service or leadership, is qualified for Foursquare Church ministry in any role or office, regardless of gender, age, or ethnicity.
